A local branch of Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing, serving active-duty military and veterans across Southwest Virginia — at no cost, ever.
Our Mission "Healing America's Veterans through the therapeutic art of fly fishing."
That's the national mission — and here in the Roanoke and New River Valleys, we live it out locally. Since 2005, Project Healing Waters has grown into a nationwide program serving over 7,000 veteran participants across 43 states and Washington, D.C., teaching fly fishing, fly casting, fly tying, and rod building as a path to physical and emotional rehabilitation. Our branch brings that same curriculum to Southwest Virginia, building camaraderie and connection one cast at a time.

Most of our gatherings are at VFW Post 4522 in Vinton, usually the 1st and 3rd Tuesdays of the month. Outings and clinics move around the rivers of Southwest Virginia.
